You don't have to live in fear
Anxiety is real, treatable, and nothing to be ashamed of. Dr. Pierre-Louis has helped hundreds of patients find relief — and you can too.
What is anxiety?
Anxiety is more than everyday worry or stress. It's a persistent, often overwhelming sense of fear, dread, or unease that can interfere with every part of your life — your relationships, your work, your ability to rest, and your sense of self.
Anxiety disorders are the most common mental health conditions in the United States, affecting over 40 million adults. Yet less than 40% of those who suffer from anxiety ever receive treatment. At Divine Soul, we believe that number is far too low.
Anxiety can take many forms: generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, specific phobias, separation anxiety, and more. Regardless of the form it takes, effective help is available.
Common symptoms of anxiety
Anxiety presents differently in everyone. These are some of the most common signs that anxiety may be affecting your daily life.
- Constant or excessive worry that's hard to control
- Physical symptoms: racing heart, shortness of breath, chest tightness
- Restlessness, feeling on edge, or unable to relax
- Difficulty sleeping or staying asleep
- Avoiding situations that trigger anxiety
- Difficulty concentrating or mind going blank
- Muscle tension, headaches, or stomach issues
- Panic attacks: sudden intense fear with physical symptoms
How Dr. Pierre-Louis treats anxiety
Dr. Pierre-Louis takes a whole-person approach to anxiety treatment. She begins with a comprehensive evaluation to understand the type, severity, and root causes of your anxiety — including any underlying medical conditions, life stressors, or trauma history that may be contributing.
Treatment is personalized. For some patients, therapy-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) provide powerful tools to restructure anxious thinking patterns. For others, medication — carefully selected and monitored — can significantly reduce the physiological symptoms of anxiety. Many patients benefit most from a combination of both.
