Your first appointment — a real conversation
Your initial evaluation is 60–90 minutes. It's not a checklist — it's a genuine conversation about your history, your struggles, your goals, and your life. Dr. Pierre-Louis listens first and diagnoses second.
What to bring:
- Your insurance card (if applicable)
- A list of current medications and dosages
- Any prior mental health records if available (not required)
- A list of questions or concerns you want to discuss
Your personalized care plan
After your evaluation, Dr. Pierre-Louis will create a care plan tailored specifically to you — not a template, not a protocol. A plan built around your unique situation and goals.
This may include:
- Psychiatric medication management
- Individual therapy or skills-based sessions
- Psychoeducation about your diagnosis
- Regular follow-up appointments to monitor progress
You'll always know what we're doing and why — and you'll always have a say in every decision about your care.

Answers to your questions
A psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP) is an advanced practice registered nurse with specialized training in mental health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment — including prescribing psychiatric medications. Dr. Pierre-Louis holds both PMHNP-BC (Psychiatric Mental Health) and FNP-C (Family Nurse Practitioner) board certifications, along with a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree.
Yes. Dr. Pierre-Louis is fully licensed to evaluate, prescribe, and manage psychiatric medications as part of a comprehensive care plan. Medication is always discussed openly — we never prescribe without your understanding and agreement. You are always part of the decision.
Therapy focuses on talk-based treatment and behavioral skills. Psychiatric care — like what we provide — addresses the medical side of mental health, including diagnosis, medication management, and clinical evaluation. Many patients benefit from both, and we'll help you understand what combination fits your needs.
Your first visit is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation lasting 60–90 minutes. Dr. Pierre-Louis will ask about your history, symptoms, family background, and goals. It's a conversation, not an interrogation. You'll leave with a clear understanding of your diagnosis (if applicable) and next steps.
Research shows that telehealth is equally effective for most psychiatric conditions. Our telehealth platform is secure, HIPAA-compliant, and easy to use from any smartphone, tablet, or computer — no special software or downloads required.
If you're experiencing persistent sadness, anxiety, mood swings, difficulty concentrating, trauma responses, or other mental health symptoms that affect your daily life — you deserve support. Take our free wellness quiz to get a sense of what kind of care might help, or simply call us and we'll have an honest conversation.
If you are in immediate danger, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. You can also call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) anytime — free, confidential, 24/7. For non-emergency urgent concerns, contact us at (702) 843-5015 and we'll do everything we can to see you as soon as possible.
Most major insurance plans cover psychiatric evaluation and follow-up visits. Coverage varies by plan. Our team will verify your specific benefits before your first appointment — at no charge to you. See our Insurance page for the full list of accepted plans.
